Townsville Eisteddfod Inc. is a non-profit organisation and relies totally on voluntary effort.
Our volunteers work in an atmosphere of friendly teamwork. Most volunteers like to work on sessions in which they have a personal interest and where they can meet people with similar interests. Many of our current volunteers are former competitors or parents of former competitors. There is always time for social interaction.
As far as possible, tasks are allocated to suit the individual’s skills and preferences and the hours they are willing to commit.
Chairpersons: Announce items, changes, rulings and results.
Adjudicators Assistant: Assist the adjudicator to allow them to focus on the performance. Must be able to type as reports are done on-line. (Some adjudicators prefer to type the reports themselves).
Band Marshals: Physical work component – Lifting, moving instruments, etc. Organising competitors and general stage management under the direction of Theatre staff. Must have Blue Card.
Choir Marshall: Meeting choirs on arrival outside the theatre, directing them to where they need to be & supervision in the auditorium. Must have a Blue Card.
General administration tasks: In the Eisteddfod Office or at the Eisteddfod.
